Display by Greg Wynn 15 March 2011
On 15 March we were visited by ex-member Greg Wynn who showed us South Australia and, after tea and coffee, a thematic display about Esperanto. A very enjoyable evening was had by all and afterwards David Springbett gave a vote of thanks and presented Greg with a card in memory of the occasion.

Open Themed & Cinderella Nine Sheet Competitions 1 March 2011
There were five entries in the Open Themed class. Every member had a vote (though members were obliged not to vote for themselves). The winners were:
1st Tony Stanford with 'Matabeleland, Tati & Gubalawayo'. 2nd David Mott with 'Nelson’s Navy'. 3rd Tony Simmonds with 'Aloe, Aloe'.

There were two entries in the Cinderella class. The winners were:
1st Tony Simmonds with 'Elder Dempster Lines Internal Company Receipt Marks'. 2nd Tony Stanford with 'Postal Money Orders'.

Maidenhead Trio Visit Amersham
Below, left to right, Keith Hatch, Tony Simmonds and Tony Stanford relaxing among the dealers at the Middlesex Philatelic Federation Diamond Jubilee Stamp Show at Amersham recently which was part of the London 2010 Festival of Stamps.
Tony Stanford, winner of the postcard competition, which was revived after a gap of twelve years, received the Centenary Cup from Federation Chairman Christopher Oliver for his display of The British Salonica Force.
Tony, who is also a member of the Amersham and District P.S. won the Traditional 16 Sheet Competition with a display of The 1888 British Bechuanaland Half-Penny Vermilion. |
